2018 Daytona 500: Start time, TV schedule, and radio

NASCAR’s biggest race, the 60th annual Daytona 500, will take the green flag at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday from Daytona International Speedway.

Fox is broadcasting the race and its television coverage starts at 1 p.m. ET. Mike Joy will handle play-by-play duties, with analysts Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip joining Joy in the broadcast booth.

Pole-sitter Alex Bowman and Denny Hamlin share the front row after setting the fastest speeds in qualifying last weekend. Bowman is making his first start as the full-time replacement for the retired Dale Earnhardt Jr., who will serve as the grand marshal Sunday and give the command for drivers to start their engines. Hamlin is seeking his second Daytona 500 victory in three years, having won NASCAR’s biggest race in 2016.

Kurt Busch is the defending Daytona 500 winner and a second victory in a row would make him just the fourth driver to accomplish it, and the first since Sterling Marlin in 1994-95. Richard Petty (1973-74) and Cale Yarborough (1983-84) are the other two drivers to score consecutive Daytona 500 wins.
