2011 NBA Draft Results: Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Tyler Taken Early In Second Round

The second round of the 2011 NBA Draft looks like it will feature many mid-level players from the past season in college basketball.

The New Jersey Nets took Maryland big man Jordan Williams with the No. 36 pick; Williams' most notable career moment to this point may have been the bizarre saga kicked up by an offhand comment about how ESPN's Scott Van Pelt impacted his decision to enter the NBA Draft.

Trey Thompkins, a forward from Georgia, went to the Clippers with the No. 37 pick. Thompkins has skills as a face-up tweener, but serious worries about his conditioning likely pushed him to the second round.

The Houston Rockets took Chandler Parsons from Florida with the No. 38 pick. Parsons is a offensively skilled forward who has some skills as a rebounder, but would seem to be a less athletic version of Chase Budinger.

The Charlotte Bobcats added a promising question mark to their imposing frontcourt by taking Jeremy Tyler, who played in Israel and Japan after skipping his senior year of high school. Tyler has height, bulk, and talent, but has been dogged by maturity questions for years.

At the No. 40 pick, the Milwaukee Bucks selected Jon Leuer from Wisconsin. With his size and face-up skills, he could be a useful reserve and stretch the floor for Milwaukee.
