LeBron James will not take the court on Thursday night as the Miami Heat travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets after spraining his left ankle against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. As he drove to the basket, his left ankle gave way, leaving the superstar in obvious pain. LeBron was a game-time decision all day ahead of Thursday's game against the Nuggets before the Heat declared him out just about an hour before tip-off. James Jones will start in his place.
Heat Vs. Nuggets: LeBron James Out With A Sprained Ankle
Despite the injury, he was able to finish the game on Wednesday — though clearly hobbled — as the Heat fell to the Clippers, 111-105. LeBron scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the loss.
X-rays on LeBron’s injured ankle revealed no breaks or serious damage on Thursday. Though he won’t play against the Nuggets, the sprained ankle shouldn’t keep him sidelined for any extended period of time.
The Heat take on the Nuggets on Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. EST on TNT. For more on the matchup, and updates throughout the game, stay tuned to our StoryStream.
