The Miami Heat looked pedestrian without superstar LeBron James, falling to the Denver Nuggets, 120-103. The Nuggets jumped out to a 17-point halftime lead and cruised to the finish while completely controlling the Heat down the stretch. Without LeBron’s scoring prowess, the Heat looked pedestrian against the Nuggets as they struggled to answer the Nugget’s hot shooting throughout the game.

The Nuggets had seven players in double-figures, led by J.R. Smith’s 28 points off the bench. Carmelo Anthony, playing amid lingering rumors of a trade, scored 21 points to lead the starts. Chauncey Billups had a team-high 13 assists and Nene grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, six of which came in the first quarter.
Without LeBron, Chris Bosh took over the scoring load with a team-high 24 points. Dwyane Wade added 16 points, with Eddie House coming off the bench to score 15. Mario Chalmers was also in double-figures, scoring 14 points off the bench. Mike Miller added a team-high eight rebounds.
The Heat fell for the second time in as many days, dropping their record to 30-11 on the year. MIami is off on Friday before traveling to Chicago to take on the Bulls. The Nuggets improved to 22-16 with the win and will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
