Who knew there were fireworks scheduled for Oklahoma City at noon today? The Heat and Thunder are definitely providing them.
Heat Vs. Thunder: Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade Star In High-Scoring First Quarter
After the first quarter, it’s Oklahoma City 38, Miami 35 at the Ford Center.
The Thunder are being propelled by good shooting and aggressive play from Kevin Durant. He leads all scorers with 14 points, and has made four of his five field goals. Durant’s also already gotten six three throw attempts, hitting five.
But he’s been helped by point guard Russell Westbrook and forward Jeff Green, too. Green’s made all five of his shots and has 11 points, while Westbrook has been active on fast breaks and has six points.
For the Heat, Dwyane Wade has been the spark plug, driving to the basket often and scoring 13 points. LeBron James has been effective as a facilitator, piling up eight assists in the first quarter while making just one lay-up.
In one of the quarter’s odder moments, a bit of chirping from Durant to Chris Bosh resulted in double technicals for the two players.
