Kobe Bryant Says He ‘Should Be Fine’ For Lakers’ Christmas Opener Against Bulls

Kobe Bryant, who has been listed as day-to-day by the Los Angeles Lakers due to a torn ligament in his right (shooting) wrist, told the media on Thursday that he "should be fine" to play in the team's opening game on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls.

Bryant missed the Lakers' second and final preseason game on Wednesday after receiving the diagnosis that day. He fell on his hand after having a layup blocked by DeAndre Jordan in the Lakers' Monday preseason loss to the L.A. Clippers.

Kobe said that the central problem with the injury is the associated swelling; Bryant has dealt with finger and knee issues in the recent past and, as he told the media, he always finds a way to play. He has played in at least 70 games in each of the past six seasons, and a full 82 in three of the past six.
