Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has had an up-and-down game against the Los Angeles Lakers, dominating the first quarter and disappearing in the second. He returned big in the third, now totaling 19 points and eight rebounds as the Magic lead 67-60.
Lakers Vs. Magic Score: Dwight Howard Alley Oop From Gilbert Arenas Puts Orlando Up Seven
Just before the buzzer at the end of the third, Gilbert Arenas stepped backwards from the perimeter, with his heel landing on the sideline paint. He lobbed the ball toward the basket, which Howard was able to convert as an alley oop. After a review it was determined Howard did flush the ball through before time expired — it was also clearly shown that Arenas stepped out of bounds, but since it wasn’t his shot, his feet were not subject to review. Crazy rule.
Howard leads all scorers, missing only three shots, followed closely by Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum, who have 15 each.
