Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard more than made up for an ineffective second quarter by taking over the second half, finishing with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks. Oh, and he only missed three shots in the entire game. The Magic won all four quarters of the game, but really took off once Howard took over in the fourth.
Lakers Vs. Magic Final Score: Dwight Howard Leads Orlando To 89-75 Home Win
The Los Angeles Lakers went with a team-first approach, if not entirely by design, as Kobe Bryant hit only eight field goals in the game. Bryant and Andrew Bynum finished with 17 points, followed by Lamar Odom’s 15 and Pau Gasol’s 11.
The Magic outrebounded the Lakers 46 to 34 and shot better from the floor, from deep, and from behind the line. All of that apparently made up for doubling up L.A. in turnovers. /shrugs
Orlando made up ground on the Miami Heat in the Southeast Division race, while the Lakers will appreciate it if you just let them know once the playoffs have started. Thanks.
