Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was the biggest performer in the high-scoring first quarter of tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs, putting up 11 points and three assists as Chicago built a 30-25 lead. Rose doesn’t appear content to head into All-Star Weekend without putting in serious work against the NBA’s best team.

Both teams are shooting well over 55 percent, with Chicago breaking 65 percent so far. They’re also winning the rebounding game as both Kurt Thomas and Luol Deng have grabbed three boards each.
During the break, Gregg Popovich was asked what his team could do about Rose. He wasn’t sure. Who would be? Popovich is also unhappy with the officiating so far, judging by his interactions with tonight’s referees.
Tony Parker leads the Spurs with nine points on six shots from the floor.
