NBA Trade Rumors Roundup: Marcus Camby, Carl Landry Among Big Men Being Shopped

Marcus Camby joined his Portland Trail Blazers teammates in the NBA trade rumor circuit ahead of Thursday’s deadline. Yahoo!‘s Marc Spears reports that the Blazers are looking to move the ageless center before the NBA trade deadline, along with ageless point guard Andre Miller. Miller has been wed to rumors involving Devin Harris of the New Jersey Nets. Joel Przybilla has also been mentioned in those rumors.

Camby didn’t respond particularly kindly to news that he’s on the block. Via Blazersedge, Camby told reports that had he known he’d be in trade rumors, he wouldn’t have signed an extension with Portland last year. Yikes. (That said, Camby was also reportedly mad when the Los Angeles Clippers traded him to Portland last year. He quickly assimilated and signed that extension.)

* Don’t think that the Magic are going to trade Jason Richardson. In fact, a report suggests the Magic are actually working on a contract extension with J-Rich.

* The Houston Rockets’ Shane Battier and Courtney Lee are drawing interest.

* Yahoo!‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the New Orleans Hornets are looking for a big man (as they were a week ago when Antawn Jamison’s name popped up). One name Wojnarowski presents Tuesday is Sacramento Kings forward Carl Landry. Landry will be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end, and hasn’t meshed well in the Kings’ crowded frontcourt. Woj reports that the Hornets are dangling Marcus Thornton, a cheap scoring guard who will a restricted free agent at the end of the season. The Kings have certainly chased young guards this season.

* Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee noted that sources tell him the Kings will indeed look to shake things up before the deadline, and won’t hesitate to take players back. The team is also open to more draft picks and, of course, cash.
