Jason Kapono doesn't figure to be dealt by the Philadelphia 76ers before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday at 3 PM Eastern. But Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Kapono is a prime candidate for a post-deadline buyout. Kapono is one of the best three-point shooters in the league, but the rest of his game is so bad coaches have trouble finding room in the rotation for him.
Jason Kapono Absent From NBA Trade Rumors, But Could Receive Sixers Buyout
Kapono has been particularly restricted this season because of injuries; he's played just 89 minutes for the Sixers under Doug Collins. But when he does play, he's as close to lights-out from long-range as anyone not named Anthony Morrow. Kapono is a career .439 three-point shooter, good for No. 4 all-time behind Morrow, Steve Kerr and Hubert Davis.
Woj reports that the Boston Celtics, L.A. Lakers, New Orleans Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder would come calling if Kapono is bought out. Kapono spent two seasons with the Miami Heat, including when Miami won the title in 2006.
