Anthony Parker isn't exactly the hottest name you can imagine lighting up the final minutes of the NBA trade rumors season, but there he is, drawing attention. Parker, the Cleveland Cavaliers' veteran wing on an expiring deal, has been tied to the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls of late, but Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports that two Western Conference contenders have joined the hunt in the 11th hour.
NBA Trade Rumors Add Two West Teams To Anthony Parker Derby
One could be the Dallas Mavericks, who have otherwise struck out in their attempts to land a replacement for Caron Butler, who was lost to a season-ending injury almost two months ago. Other teams considered contenders in the West seem to have their defensive wing roles locked up; the New Orleans Hornets, for example, need scoring, which Parker does not offer.
If no trade for Parker is consummated, it's expected he'll be waived by the Cavaliers and would become possibly the top perimeter free agent. The Celtics have most frequently been mentioned as the frontrunner to sign Parker if he's bought out. The Celtics lost Marquis Daniels to a spinal injury early in February.
