It was a wild finish between the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic, but the Knicks emerged with a 113-106 victory in overtime. Toney Douglas hit a three-point shot to give the Knicks the lead, but then missed another three in between two Orlando field goals. Still Chauncey Billups sank a three to give the Knicks a 106-104 lead. They never looked back on their way to snapping a six-game losing streak.
Magic Vs. Knicks Final Score: New York Pulls Out Overtime Victory, 113-106
Carmelo Anthony scored 39 points, 33 coming in the second half. He grabbed 10 rebounds as well. He and Amare Stoudemire both played solid defense in the final quarter and into overtime. Stoudemire fell short of a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Douglas saw 37 minutes as a reserve and finished with 16 points.
Dwight Howard overcame a slow start to finish with 29 points and 18 rebounds, but he fouled out of the game and received a technical foul in the process, his 17th. Jason Richardson fueled the offense while Howard struggled early on, finishing with 24 points. Gilbert Arenas had a tough night from the field, not making a field goal until the final quarter of regulation. He tallied nine points and 10 rebounds.
