76ers Vs. Bulls: Derrick Rose Can’t Rescue Chicago’s Offense, Philadelphia Wins

Derrick Rose scored 31 points -- 14 of those in the fourth quarter -- but the Chicago Bulls couldn't survive a visiting onslaught from the Philadelphia 76ers, who won 97-85 at the United Center. The loss broke Chicago's 14-game home winning streak, and brought the Miami Heat to within two games of the No. 1 seed in the East.

Philadelphia's defense did a great job to limit the Bulls' perimeter game, Rose excepted. Chicago hit just one of nine three-pointers, and its bench provided just 14 points in more than 70 minutes of action. Luol Deng shot 3-11, and Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah combined for 25 points on 26 shots (including free throws).

The Sixers led by as many as 23 in the first half, but Chicago was in the game in the fourth as Rose and Philadelphia's wings traded baskets. The Bulls ended up with a brutal offensive efficiency of 90.4; Philly has a good defense, but it's not that good. Thaddeus Young led the Sixers with 21 points off the bench. Most of his work came in the second quarter as Philadelphia opened up its big lead. Young also had seven rebounds and four blocks.
