Bulls Vs. Pacers, Final Score: Derrick Rose Scores 39 To Help Lead Chicago To A Comeback Victory Over Indiana

Tyler Hansbrough and Danny Granger threatened to steal the show for Indiana, but Derrick Rose turned in an MVP type of performance while helping the Bulls to a 104-99 come from behind victory. The Pacers were primed for a game one upset until a Kyle Korver three-pointer with 48.4 seconds remaining gave the Bulls their first lead of the game.

Rose finished with 39 points while putting the Bulls on his back for much of the game finishing 10-23 from the field and a staggering 19-21 from the free throw line. Rose also collected six rebounds and six assists in the game. Joakim Noah was quiet for much of the day but made his presence known late when the Bulls and Rose needed him the most. After Indiana had taken a ten point lead with just over three minutes to go in the game, Rose found Noah on a fast break dunk that electrified the United Center crowd.

Danny Granger scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half while Tyler Hansbrough chipped in 22 for the Pacers. Darren Collison finished with 17 points, nine assists, and six rebounds, but wasn’t nearly the factor down the stretch that he was in the first half.

In addition to Rose’s 39 points, Luol Deng totaled 18 while Carlos Boozer has 12. Noah finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks.

Indiana took a ten point lead with just 3:38 to go in the game before the Bulls’ defensive pressure took over. The Pacers couldn’t find a good look at the basket over their final possessions and were powerless to stop the Derrick Rose train once it started rolling.
