Boston came out and made a point of getting physical defensively and getting the ball to Ray Allen on offense. With the extra effort, they successfully cut into the New York lead trailing 64-59 after three quarters of play. Jermaine O’Neal who has 10 points and three blocked shots also helped spark the Celtics in the third.
Knicks Vs. Celtics Score: Amare Stoudemire, Knicks Holding Onto 64-59 Lead After Three
After a quiet first half, Allen scored seven of his 13 points in the third quarter. The Celtics have five different players in double figures but still trail the Knicks.
Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony have combined for 30 points through three but suffered from less than stellar shot selection in the third resulting in the Celtics run. New York did seem to get their composure back at the end of the quarter and the stage is now set for a thrilling fourth with this still anybody’s game.
