Dwyane Wade, who missed Sunday's Miami Heat practice due to a migraine headache, participated in the team's Monday shootaround and is expected to play in Game 2 of Miami's first round NBA Playoffs series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Dwyane Wade Participates In Miami Heat Shootaround, Expected To Play In Game 2 Vs. Sixers
Wade has struggled with migraines, and earlier this season wore tinted goggles in game play to help dim the bright arena lights. The All-Star guard and 2006 NBA Finals MVP socred 17 points for the Heat in Miami’s Game 1 win over the Sixers on Saturday. Philadelphia led much of that game, and pulled to within one point in the final minutes after Miami had taken control. Wade was pivotal down the stretch, scoring five late points and running the point guard position for Miami.
It’s unclear whether Wade will wear goggles should he play. According to Brian Windhorst, he wore sunglasses during shootaround, drawing the nickname “Blade” from teammates. But the NBA has regulated how much tint Wade’s in-game goggles can have, ruling that too much constitutes an unfair advantage as opponents cannot see his eyes.
Game 2 of Heat vs. Sixers tips off at 6 p.m. ET on Monday in Miami.
