Spurs guard Manu Ginobli will return to the Spurs lineup Wednesday night after sitting out the Game 1 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with a hyperextended elbow. Ginobli originally suffered the injury in the final game of the regular season against the Phoenix Suns. George Hill started in place of Ginobli and scored 15 points despite going only 2-7 from the field and 0-3 from three-point range.
Grizzlies Vs. Spurs: Manu Ginobli Will Play In Game 2 Wednesday Night
Ginobli reportedly wanted to play in Game 1 but Spurs coach Gregg Popovich elected to give his All-Star more rest. Ginobli is the Spurs second leading scorer averaging 17.4 points per game this season. He was seen warming up before tonight’s game wearing a heavily padded sleeve on his elbow.
San Antonio will most certainly welcome back Ginobli with open arms as he gives them yet another dynamic ball handler that is capable of carrying the team offensively.
