Lakers Vs. Hornets Score: Kobe Bryant Gives Los Angeles Early Lead

The Los Angeles Lakers came out of the gate strong in Game 3 of the NBA playoff matchup against the New Orleans Hornets. Thanks to the efforts of Kobe Bryant, with a little help from Ron Artest and Andrew Bynum, the Lakers have jumped out to a 30-23 lead heading into the second quarter. Bryant led all scorers with 10 points in the first quarter, negating the production of New Orleans guard Chris Paul.

Bryant did have some help as Ron Artest added seven points and Andrew Bynum chipped in six. Lamar Odom had three points in a reserve role off the bench.

It’s been a two-man show for New Orleans and Chris Paul, predictably, has keyed the offensive efforts of the Hornets with nine points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds thus far. Trevor Ariza has eight points and two rebounds in a complimentary role. Three other players have two points through the first quarter for New Orleans.
