The Los Angeles Lakers have remained one step ahead of the New Orleans Hornets all game long on Friday night as they protecting a lead built in the first quarter. As usual, it’s Kobe Bryant setting the tone for the Lakers with a team-high 24 points through three quarters. His partner-in-crime on Friday has been Andrew Bynum, who is also in double-figures with 14 points.

After scoring 18 points in the first half, Chris Paul has slowed, but the rest of the Hornets have suddenly come alive. Paul scored just points in the third quarter, pushing his total to for the game. Carl Landry was also in double-figures with 16 points. Emeka Okafor has 11 points, with Trevor Ariza adding 10 points to the mix. Paul has a team-high eight assists and Ariza has a team-high eight rebounds.
Pau Gasol joined Bryant and Bynum in double-figures with 10 points through three quarters. Ron Artest has nine points and Derek Fisher has seven points. Bynum has a game-high 10 rebounds thus far, ensuring himself a double-double.
With the series tied at one, the Lakers are 12 minutes away from taking a one-game lead and appear to be firmly in control, leading the Hornets, 75-68.
