Eddy Curry has worked out for the Miami Heat president Pat Riley, the team confirmed to the Miami Herald. Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Saturday that the center had a better than 50-50 chance of being signed for the Heat's playoff run. The Heat told the Herald the team looked at Curry and others in "a big picture look for the down the road," and a team spokesman wouldn't speculate on whether the former Knick would join Miami this season.

Free agents must sign by April 13 to play in the playoffs. Curry became a free agent when the Minnesota Timberwolves waived him in February. He was sent to Minnesota with Anthony Randolph in the massive Carmelo Anthony trade. His inclusion allowed New York to cut the necessary salary to take back Anthony and Chauncey Billups.
Curry has played a total of 74 minutes since the 2008-09 season. He's always been considered a decent post scorer but a bad defender and rebounder. He's struggled with injuries and his weight since signing a deal with the Knicks after four years with the Chicago Bulls.
