The winner of the first quarter has won every game in the series between the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks. If that trend holds, the Bulls will advance to play the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, having drilled the Hawks early on, leading 27-17.
Bulls Vs. Hawks Score: Carlos Boozer, Chicago Own Another First Quarter
Winning on the boards and at ball control enabled Chicago more offensive opportunities, which they converted at a ridiculous rate. The Bulls shot over 70 percent for the period if you exclude the last couple efforts in the final seconds of the first, with Carlos Boozer's four-for-five showing leading the way. Derrick Rose has four assists already to go along with his five points.
The Hawks aren't stinking it up on offense, shooting almost 50 percent; they've just been outclassed. Josh Smith has provided more of Atlanta's offense than anybody else, producing seven points on five shots, but hasn't been able to give Al Horford a whole lot of help on the glass.
