Hornets Guard Eric Gordon -- the cornerstone of New Orleans’ rebuilding project -- will sit out 3-6 more weeks after already missing most of January to rest his injured knee.
Eric Gordon Injury: Hornets Guard Needs Knee Surgery, May Miss Six Weeks
New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon is still being hampered by a knee injury and will now undergo surgery, the team announced on Monday night. Gordon has missed all but two games with a sore left knee, an injury he’s been unable to recover from.

Despite his extremely limited minutes -- the only other game he played was the season-opener on Dec. 26 -- he has looked decent when he’s played. He’s averaging 21 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in those two games. The Hornets have gone 2-15 since opening the season with a victory.
