Eric Gordon Injury: Hornets Say Guard Out Another 3-6 Weeks

Eric Gordon will be out another 3-6 weeks with a right knee contusion, the New Orleans Hornets announced on Thursday. Gordon has not played since going 39 minutes in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 4. He has played just two games all year.

Despite his extremely limited minutes -- the only other game he played was the season-opener on Dec. 26 -- he has looked decent when he’s played. He’s averaging 21 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in those two games. The Hornets have gone 2-15 since opening the season with a victory.

Gordon was the prized acquisition in the trade that sent Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers and the Hornets have been trying to re-sign the guard. The team, which is league controlled, had offered Paul a four-year deal that he declined prior to Wednesday's deadline and he will now become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
