Eric Gordon Injury: Hornets Guard Needs Knee Surgery, May Miss Six Weeks

New Orleans Hornets guard Eric Gordon is still being hampered by a knee injury and will now undergo surgery, the team announced on Monday night. Gordon has missed all but two games with a sore left knee, an injury he’s been unable to recover from.

The news comes from Marc Spears of Yahoo!.

With six more weeks tacked onto the six weeks he’s already missed, it’s unlikely Gordon will make much of an impact for the Hornets at all this season. New Orleans continues to slump, with a 5-23 record on the year, and rushing Gordon back could do more harm to the young man’s career than good. However, Gordon is set to become a free agent following the season, and may want to show he’s back to health, or close, before the end of the year in hopes of generating interest as he hits the open market.
