On Saturday, Yahoo!‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Minnesota Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy has had setbacks following knee surgery, making his return to the team uncertain. Roy says he will explore additional treatment options and hopes to return to his team.

Roy spent his first five NBA seasons with Portland but spent the 2011-12 season away from the game after chronic knee troubles hampered him and led the Trail Blazers to using their amnesty clause on the three-time All-Star. He decided to return with Minnesota prior to this season and signed a two-year deal before lasting just the first five games of the year.

But even with doctors questioning if his knees “can withstand the grind of playing in the NBA,” Roy has not come to a final decision on the future of his playing career yet, according to Wojnarowski’s sources.
