Brandon Roy had hoped to make it back to the Minnesota Timberwolves lineup by Feb. 1. Now that it won't happen, the former All-Star is once again considering calling it a career, according to CSNNW.com.
Brandon Roy admits career ‘at a crossroad’ after latest injury setback
If he doesn’t play again this year, the former All-Star could retire at the end of the season.

During a workout last Saturday, Roy tweaked something in his surgically-repaired right knee. The setback means that he will not return to action before this year’s All-Star break.
His initial reaction was of a player that had suited up for the last time:
“As soon as it happened, in my head, I said ‘I quit. I just quit,” an emotional Roy told CSNNW.com. “That was my first thought, that I couldn’t do this anymore.”
It’s possible that he can still make it back to the lineup, as the latest setback will not require surgery. While Roy will continue to try to comeback this season, if he can’t, he said he will retire.
His goal is to return by March 2. That is when Minnesota travels to Portland.
In the offseason, Roy signed a two-year contract with Minnesota worth $10.4 million. His tenure with the Portland Trail Blazers ended when the team used their amnesty clause on him in 2011. Afterwards, Roy briefly retired.
Roy is already thinking about a possible career change. If he does walk away, he expressed interest in becoming a coach so he could stay in the game:
“Coaching at the NBA level is where I see myself,” Roy said. “If this season is it for me, I’m not staying away from basketball. I would want to get in as soon as possible.”
At 28 years old, Roy would have plenty of time to work his way up the coaching ladder.
