    Turnovers told much of the story for the Lakers as they committed 17, resulting in 20 points for the Thunder. Oklahoma City showcased their superior team speed and outran the Lakers in scoring 28 fast break points.

    Westbrook was on fire in the first half, going 5-of-7 from three-point range. Oklahoma City led by 14 points through the first two quarters, and led by as many as 19. L.A. made a late run in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead down to as few as four, but the Thunder managed to hang on behind Durant’s clutch shooting.

    76ers knock off Celtics in Philadelphia

    Rajon Rondo had a triple-double of 16 assists, 14 assists and 13 rebounds for the Celtics (10-9). Paul Pierce led all scorers with 27 points.

    As the score indicates, both offenses struggled, only managing to combine for 11 points in overtime. The Sixers won despite shooting just 37 percent from the field and making just two three pointers all night. The game was won, though, in the turnover battle, where Philadelphia picked up nine more takeaways than Boston, which helped them take 18 more shots as a team and overcome their lackluster shooting percentage.

    If the Lakers are one thing right now, they are a work in progress. That won’t change until Nash returns to the floor, where another round of gelling can begin. After their massive move before the season began, Oklahoma City appears to be adjusting rather nicely. If we’re talking about who looks primed to conquer right now, there really isn’t much of an argument that can be made.
