The Brandon Roy comeback seems to be coming on strong this week as teams decide what they're going to do heading into Thursday night's NBA Draft. There are a few good wings available in this year's class, but none project out to be able to do quite what a healthy Roy is capable of doing.
Brandon Roy Comeback Could Come With A Myriad Of Teams
The healthy caveat remains a big one, considering Roy retired last season due to chronic knee pain at a rather young age, but there’s been talk of a comeback for a couple of weeks. Now, thanks to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, the public has also found out which teams might actually be interested if Roy makes his way back to the NBA.
As ex-Portland Trail Blazer Brandon Roy plans his comeback to the NBA, the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves have emerged as serious suitors to sign the former All-Star guard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Roy's recovery from chronic knee problems has been recently spurred by undergoing the platelet rich plasma therapy procedure that Lakers star Kobe Bryant popularized with NBA players, sources said. The blood spinning procedure gave profound relief to the knees of Bryant, Tracy McGrady and baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
Plenty of Seattle-area players have mentioned that Roy is back to full health -- draft prospect Tony Wroten even went a bit further -- so it’ll be interesting to see how many more teams are added to this list if they’re unable to get what they were looking for on Thursday night.
