2012-13 NBA Schedule Officially Released, Season Begins Oct. 30

The 2012-13 NBA schedule was released Thursday, with the season set to begin on Oct. 30, 2012. The opening night of action will feature three games, including the defending NBA champion Miami Heat beginning their season against the Boston Celtics on TNT.

In addition to the Heat vs. Celtics, opening night will also feature the Cavaliers vs. Wizards and will end with the Mavericks traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers. That game will also be broadcast on TNT, wrapping up the network's opening night double-header.

The Heat will be back on national television on Nov. 2, when they take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Ray Allen will return to Boston for the first time on Jan. 27 in a game that will be broadcast on ABC. New Laker Steve Nash will play his first game back in Phoenix on Jan. 30.

Anthony Davis, the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NBA draft, will begin his career with the New Orleans Hornets on Oct. 31, Halloween night, against Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs.
