2012-13 NBA Schedule Released: Celtics Vs. Heat, Mavs Vs. Lakers Highlight Opening Night

The Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks will be each other's first home opponent on the 2012-13 NBA schedule. But with the full schedule released Thursday, we now know that Opening Night might be the biggest night of the season's opening week.

The biggest game on Oct. 30, 2012, the opening day of the season, sees the Boston Celtics visiting the Miami Heat in South Florida for a rematch of the 2012 Eastern Conference finals. Of course, that's not the only narrative of that game -- it will also be Ray Allen's first game against the team with which he won an NBA title and became the league's all-time leading three-point shooter, which might get some attention. Oh, and the Heat will be raising their 2011-12 NBA championship banner.

Later that night, the Los Angeles Lakers will welcome the Dallas Mavericks to Tinseltown for a clash between two Western Conferenc titans. It'll be the debut of Steve Nash in a Lakers uniform in a regular-season game, and could very well be the beginning of the Dwight Howard Era for L.A., too, if the Lakers can swing a deal for the Magic center.

Both of these games will be televised on TNT on October 30, with Celtics-Heat beginning the night at 8 p.m. Eastern and Mavs-Lakers following at 10:30 p.m. Eastern.
