NBA schedule 2013: Bulls-Celtics headlines busy Wednesday
The Bulls and Celtics square off in an Eastern Conference showdown on Wednesday night in Boston. Out west, the Clippers host the Rockets in a game that should feature plenty of highlights.
The Celtics were left for dead after Rajon Rondo tore his ACL last month, but the team responded in a big way, winning seven games in a row following the injury. Boston suffered its first real letdown on Monday, falling 94-91 to the lowly Charlotte Bobcats. The Celtics also lost Leandro Barbosa for the season with a torn ACL in the defeat.
The Bulls have hummed along quite nicely without Derrick Rose, who is currently nearing a return from his own ACL injury. Chicago is fourth in the Eastern Conference at 30-21, although it did just lose to a San Antonio Spurs team that was playing without Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Stephen Jackson.
Over in the Western Conference will be a high-flying contest between the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets at the Staples Center. The Clippers have regained their dominance in the last two games after scuffling without Chris Paul, beating both the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers by double-digits.
The Rockets will be playing the second of a back-to-back after an impressive road win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. Seven Rockets reached double figures in the 116-107 victory.
