The San Antonio Spurs deadline day attempt to trade for Orlando Magic guard J.J. Redick will not come to fruition, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
NBA trade rumors: J.J. Redick won’t be heading to Spurs, according to report
San Antonio has dropped their deadline day pursuit of Magic sharpshooter J.J. Redick, according to reports.

Several teams have been rumored in the Redick trade discussions, and the Spurs emerged as a potential destination early Thursday morning. Wojnarowski tweeted earlier in the day that the Spurs were an attractive option for Redick, who owns a house in Texas and would be jumping from a team at the bottom of the standings to one at the top. It’s unclear what snag hit the trade talks, but they apparently came to halt rather quickly and the Spurs “fell short” of putting together an acceptable package for Rob Hennigan and the Magic.
Over the past month, San Antonio has played its way to the best record in the NBA, as they seem to do on an annual basis. They're 3.5 games clear of Oklahoma City in the Western Conference and adding a sharpshooter like Redick to Gregg Popovich's offense would have made them that much more formidable down the stretch and in the postseason.
