The San Antonio Spurs absolutely crushed the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday night. Two of the top teams in the Western Conference took the floor at Staples Center, but the conference-leading Spurs made a statement in the 116-90 affair.

Tony Parker was magnificient, scoring 31 points on 12-of-16 shooting. He picked the Clippers defense apart and went toe-to-toe with Chris Paul. Parker was scoring from everywhere on the floor and repeatedly penetrated into the paint for easy buckets. Parker also had 7 assists on the night. Parker accomplished all of this under 30 minutes worth of playing time as the Spurs pushed well ahead of the Clippers early, and Parker had an opportunity to take the night off early after putting in his work.

It wasn't an easy night for the Clippers. Blake Griffin scored 17 points, but on an inefficient 7-of-17 shooting. All-Star MVP Chris Paul was a non-factor in the game, scoring a meager 4 points on 1-of-6 shooting along with 3 assists. Matt Barnes led the Clippers in scoring off the bench with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
The Spurs offense was all-cylinders roaring, shooting 58.9 percent on the night from the field and 47.1 percent from beyond the arc. In contrast, the Clippers shot 42.1 percent from the field as their offense lacked three-point spacing, going only 5-16 from deep.
San Antonio adds to their league-best record, now sitting at 44-12 and riding a five-game winning streak. The Spurs are in action again Friday night in Golden State as they look to sweep their back-to-back in California. The Clippers are off until Saturday, when they face the Utah Jazz.
