Anthony Bennett had a forgettable night as the UNLV Rebels were eliminated by the Cal Golden Bears.
Bennett, the top-ranked draft prospect in the East region by SB Nation’s Jonathan Tjarks, had a forgettable tournament that ended after only one disappointing game. While he did put together a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Bennett made only four of his 11 field goals through the loss.
The prototypical combo forward, Bennett hardly had the chance to show his mix of strength, speed, and shooting ability in the Tournament. DraftExpress has Bennett ranked sixth in their top 100 prospects listing. At 6’8 and 240 pounds to go with his 7’1 wingspan, Bennett will certainly have the attention of teams looking to draft a player who can take physical advantage of smaller players while still having the speed and shooting ability to go to work on slower but bigger defenders.

Allan Crabbe led the Golden Bears, just as he has through the season. Crabbe had 19 points, shooting 7-for-16 and making only one of his three three-point attempts. Crabbe’s ability to stretch the floor will be a selling point to NBA scouts, but unlike Bennett, he will continue on through March Madness with the opportunity to showcase his talent.
