Spurs vs. Rockets final score: James Harden’s late jumper gives Houston 96-95 victory over San Antonio
James Harden had 29 points and beat the Spurs with an off-balanced jumper in the final seconds.
Harden scored the last four points of the game after Tony Parker scored 10 straight to give the Spurs a three-point lead with just over a minute left. Harden put up an excellent line of 29 points, nine rebounds and six assists, with 18 of those points coming in the second half. The All-Star guard scored those 29 points on just 16 shots, thanks to going 15-of-17 from the free throw line. Parker finished with 23 points and seven assists.
The game went back and forth throughout most of the first three quarters before the Rockets appeared to take control of the game late in the third and early into the fourth. Houston led by as many as eight at the beginning of the final frame, but then Parker single-handedly turned the tide before Harden’s heroics saved the day.
Chandler Parsons had 20 points and eight rebounds in support of Harden. Omer Asik went just 2-of-10 from the field, but he had 14 rebounds and did a solid job defending the paint. Tim Duncan had 17 points on 7-of-18 shooting in the loss for the Spurs.
