Grizzlies vs. Lakers recap: Kobe Bryant scores 24 points in 86-84 win over Memphis

The Los Angeles Lakers won their third game in a row on Friday.

Kobe Bryant recorded 24 points and nine assists and Pau Gasol converted on a go-ahead layup with just over a minute to play in the game to lift the Lakers over the Grizzlies, 86-84, on Friday.

The Grizzlies had a chance to win the game down one, 85-84, with 16.2 seconds left in the game but Mike Conley missed a long jumper to allow the Lakers to hang on for the win.

The win was the Lakers third in a row and improved them to 40-36 on the season and a full game ahead of the Utah Jazz for eighth place. The game was also Bryant's third consecutive game with nine or more assists as he had combined for 25 helpers in the previous two games.

Pau Gasol had 19 points and nine rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting from the field in the win.

The loss snapped the Grizzlies' four-game winning streak and pushed them a full game behind the Denver Nuggets for third place in the Western Conference standings.

Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 11 points, eight rebounds, seven assists while Mike Conley added 21 points for Memphis in the loss.
