A defensive slugfest broke out in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies. That was to be expected, but a score of 16-14 after the first quarter was a bit surprising. Both teams got going on offense during the second quarter, and the Thunder lead 47-46 at halftime.

After a sluggish start for both teams, the Oklahoma City Thunder lead the Memphis Grizzlies at halftime of Game 1.
How is the game going in terms of our three things to watch?
1. Can the Thunder point guards keep it up?
Like most offensive things early on, it wasn't happening. Derek Fisher's magic form the Rockets series has earned him a few more minutes, but he went 1-for-3 for two points in 10 minutes. Starting point guard Reggie Jackson had six points through the first half as the offenses opened up.
The Grizzlies aren't making the Thunder pay, however. Their starting point guard, Mike Conley, went 1-for-6 from the floor for four points and only had a single assist. Backup combo guard Jerryd Bayless did have 10 points to help negate Oklahoma City's Kevin Martin, who led the Thunder with 15 points.
2. What will Perk and Z-Bo do?
Perk and Z-Bo are up to their usual things. Randolph got off to a hot start and hit four of his first five shots, and he has 10 points through the first half.
Perkins played 17 minutes and has already proven to be much more of a factor in this series in comparison to the opening round matchup against the Rockets. While the rugged Thunder big man is 1-for-5 from the floor -- there was one ugly 17-foot jumper in there -- he has five rebounds and three assists.
3. Can the Memphis redemption tour continue?
The Grizzlies appear to be in solid position to steal a Game 1 on the road in Oklahoma City like they did two years ago. While that series went seven games and the Thunder ultimately prevailed, the Grizzlies can’t afford to waste any opportunities in Chesapeake Energy Arena by coming out flat. Thus far, they appear to be in solid position to get a jump start in the series.
