The Los Angeles Clippers will bring in Byron Scott to discuss the team's head coaching vacancy on Tuesday, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports. It will be the first face-to-face interview between the two sides as the Clips look to replace Vinny Del Negro.
Clippers to interview Byron Scott, other candidates this week, according to report
Could the Clippers re-unite Chris Paul with Byron Scott? The two sides meet Tuesday.
After meeting with Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw on Monday, Scott will be the second player interviewed by L.A. this week. Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and former Portland Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan are also scheduled to interview with the team this week.
Despite being fired by the Cavaliers earlier this year following a third straight losing season, Scott appears to be a serious candidate to take on the Pacific Division champions. His past experience with Clippers franchise player Chris Paul, who played under Scott with the New Orleans Hornets, may be giving him a boost over other candidates.
