Contractual figures have been discussed between the Los Angeles Clippers and representatives of coach Byron Scott, even though it's expected that the team will make one more push to work out a deal to acquire coach Doc Rivers from the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN.

The Los Angeles Clippers have discussed contract parameters with Chris Paul’s former coach but it’s unclear if he is the first option.
Rivers aside, it's unclear whether the Clippers have locked in Scott as a frontrunner to replace Vinny Del Negro as head coach.

The team has not discussed numbers with another top candidate, former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, but it does know approximate figures that would lock in another in Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw. That said, ESPN reports that Shaw hasn't been in contact with the Clippers since Friday, when talks between Los Angeles and Boston last fell apart.
Clippers president Andy Roeser has spoken with Scott’s representatives about contractual figures since Friday.
Top Los Angeles front office members are expected to present a case for the top candidates to Clippers owner Donald Sterling on Monday, and a decision is to be made soon after. The Clippers are using the weekend to plan around any failure to land Rivers, who has been their top candidate. Likewise, the Celtics are expected to have a news conference on Monday regarding Rivers’ situation.
Point guard Chris Paul's urging has been at the forefront of the push to pull Rivers out of Boston, but Scott presents a suitable backup. Paul played for Scott with the Hornets from 2005-09.
Scott was fired as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers after this past season.
Rivers has been the Clippers’ primary target in the last week, but they have remained unable to reach an agreement with the Celtics to allow the coach to leave. Most notably, there have been hangups in the compensation Boston wants in return to let Rivers out of his current contract. Los Angeles has refused to meet the Celtics’ demands.
