Jeff Teague injury: Hawks guard sprains left ankle, will miss Bucks game on Saturday

Jeff Teague sprained his left ankle against the Spurs and has already been ruled out for Saturday’s road game.

UPDATE (10:30 p.m. ET): The Hawks start a two-game road trip on Saturday in Milwaukee, but Teague won’t be traveling with the team for the game against the Bucks, according to Hawks.com’s Robby Kalland.

Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague sprained his left ankle against the San Antonio Spurs and will not return to the game, according to the team.

The injury occurred in the second quarter when Teague bit on a fake and fell awkwardly to the floor. He attempted to get back up, but fell down to the ground in pain. He then limped his way to the sideline before heading back to the locker room.

For their part, the Hawks Twitter team at least found some humor in the news.

Atlanta is already without Pero Antic (ankle), DeMarre Carroll (hamstring) and Al Horford (pectoral) so maybe open tryouts aren't too bad of an idea.

Teague had registered nine points and two rebounds in the 14 minutes he played prior to the injury.
