WELCOME TO THE SECOND ROUND, NETS: Brooklyn pounded out a pretty classic win, getting contributions all over the board (which is sort of what you need to do when you’re the Nets without Brook Lopez). LeBron and Wade combined for 48 points and one pair of overalls, but Miami’s defense was yikesville and the Nets scored regularly. Joe Johnson led the way with an efficient 19.
DID PORTLAND GET ITS INVITE? We are 144 minutes into Spurs-Blazers, and Portland’s led for a grand total of 33 seconds. The Spurs won by 15 this time around. Tony Parker is making up for a rough first round by blistering poor Dame Lillard. T.P. had 29 breezy points. Four Blazers dropped 20, but the entire bench contributed six points on 2-8 shooting in 38 minutes.

IT WOULD APPEAR ... that Steve Kerr will end up with the Knicks and the Warriors will concentrate on hiring Stan Van Gundy, according to ESPN. Does it strike anyone else that Phil Jackson might be better served by chasing SVG, who is a Riley protegé with hard feelings and a personal incentive to beat the Heat?
SO MUCH FOR DUMARS: It looks like the Cavaliers will stick with interim GM David Griffin running the front office. He took over for his boss Chris Grant, who was fired just before the trade deadline.
