Good morning, Steve Kerr really snubbed Phil Jackson
That, playoff reaction and more more more in Thursday’s NBA newsletter.

Good morning. Let’s basketball.
SURPRISE SURPRISE: The Heat and Spurs both advanced to the NBA’s Final Four on Wednesday. Tony Parker sat much of Game 5, and it didn’t matter as San Antonio romped. Portland’s red socks couldn’t save them!
Miami needed a strong fourth to finish off Brooklyn, whose Joe Johnson was a beast all series.
Since both of those series are done, that means there is no basketball on Friday. None. I’m already getting the shakes just thinking about it.
TONIGHT: The other two series could also end on Thursday. Potentially. Or we could have one or two Game 7s on Saturday ...
Pacers at Wizards, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN | Indiana leads 3-2
Thunder at Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN | OKC leads 3-2
KERR-FUFFLE: Steve Kerr chose the Warriors over the Knicks. More specifically, Kerr chose $25 million over five years with Golden State vs. four years with New York. Also, he chose Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala over maybe Carmelo Anthony, Raymond Felton, Amare Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani.
Next up for the Knicks? I actually saw the name Mark Madsen mentioned, and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a joke. So ...
ALRIGHT! Shelly Sterling is prepared to file for divorce, apparently. So we’re dealing with a combo Schott-McCourt here. Cool cool cool.
NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE: Donald Sterling is Master Shake.
#LWBW: I wrote about the profundity of “Let Westbrook Be Westbrook.” The Westbrook fandom has always had a special place in my heart. You know why? Because of stuff like Jason Gallagher’s Point Godzilla. YES YES YES.
INCREDIBLE: Did Kevin Durant really refuse to watch Russell Westbrook’s Game 5 clinching free throws?
HOW SVG WILL REBUILD THE PISTONS: Zach Lowe’s take.
REVENGE OF THE ZARDS: Howard Beck on Ernie Grunfeld’s comeback.
A REVIEW OF ATHLETE-OWNED MUSIC LABELS. Hearing “Tru Warier” sure takes me back ...
FOLK ANALYTICS: Kirk Goldsberry likes the Kings’ draft crowdsourcing plan, and I really like Goldsberry’s use of the term “folk analytics.”
SPEAKING OF ... Some data on the rise of the four-point play.
Happy Thursday. See you next time.
