Bucks vs. Cavs was madness, and 7 other things from Tuesday night

LeBron James did something wild, even for him!

The final minutes of the Bucks and Cavaliers game was wild, as we saw Cleveland march back from a 16-point deficit to start the quarter and retake a two-point lead with just over five minutes left. LeBron James took over, wrecking his way through the paint, and draining fadeaway threes (he finished with 39 points). When that happens, it’s usually game over.

But Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks recovered — even after the King chucked a ball off the Greek Freak’s back, then drained a three.

Just as James thought he had a steal, which may have made the difference in the game, Antetokounmpo scooped it for an easy layup.

The Bucks went on to win, 119-116, to give Cleveland just its second loss in 21 games. Antetokounmpo finished with a near-triple-double at 27 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

The Sixers don’t look good without Joel Embiid

Philly is now 1-6 in games that Embiid doesn’t play in, and watching their 101-95 loss to the Kings showed why. The Sixers looked entirely lost on the offensive end, forcing shots from their deep-ball shooters, J.J. Redick and Robert Covington. Those two combined for 28 points on 8-of-29 shooting. Yikes.

Frustratingly, Ben Simmons couldn’t assert himself as the offensive savior. He only took six shots — though he made one from mid-range! — and had only 13 points. He was almost exclusively finishiing layups. His game was complete, with 12 rebounds and nine assists, but the Sixers need more from him with Embiid out.

Mike Scott (Mike Scott!) is leading the Wizards’ bench

The Wizards may have found their Sixth Man, and his name is Mike Scott.

Scott scored 24 points in D.C.’s blowout win, 116-106, over the Pelicans, and he did it on an astounding 11-of-15 shooting. In his last eight games, this type of efficiency has been common.

He’s scored 123 points in that eight-game span on 53-of-72 shooting. That’s 74 percent!

Scott could be a huge piece come playoff time.
