There’s no Sports Mom who has a better Twitter than Wanda Durant, Kevin’s mother. On Monday, she posted a photo of herself in a cupcake T-shirt and declared her love for the dessert. Of course, as you probably know, this wasn’t just about pastries.

Wanda Durant took something meant to mock her son Kevin and turned it around on Thunder fans.
The Warriors made their only trip to Oklahoma City this season on Saturday, meaning Kevin Durant visited his old team for the first time since leaving them over the summer. Thunder fans gave him a warm welcome of boos, followed by some more boos, and then some more. Durant’s mom was upset at the “vicious, hurtful” things shouted at her son at the game, for one.
Thunder fans also latched onto calling Durant a “cupcake,” after Westbrook took a subtle shot using that expression on the Fourth of July after Durant announced his decision. Many had T-shirts ... which Draymond Green and Stephen Curry wore after the game when Golden State won in a blowout.
Now Momma Durant is in on the action, and I think it’s all great fun. You could say the T-shirt is backfiring, especially as Warriors fans get in on the action, too.
