Warriors parade 2017: Date, start time announced for NBA championship celebration

The Bay Area is about to have some fun.

The Golden State Warriors2017 championship parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. local time in the Bay Area on Thursday. It’ll continue the party that began at Oracle Arena on Monday with Golden State’s 129-120 victory over Cleveland in Game 5.

The Warriors secured their second championship in three seasons by finishing the playoffs with an incredible 16-1 record. With the addition of Kevin Durant to the fold, they proved to be too much for every team in the league, including the LeBron James-led Cavs.

That’s a cause for celebration! Warriors fans will probably get used to this, and if the parade is anything like the last one they had in 2015, it should be a good time.

According to the Warriors, “The parade will begin on Broadway at 11th Street, turning right on Grand Avenue, turning right on Harrison to 19th St, and right on Lakeside Drive, ending on Oak and proceeding to the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center.”

The parade will wrap up with a rally, which fans will be able to start lining up for as early as 5 a.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore and 12th Avenue. Here’s a look at the route:

The 2015 championship parade featured Marshawn Lynch antics, M.C. Hammer on a fire-breathing snail, and lots of Riley Curry moments. This time around, they’ll have Durant to lead the festivities. Expect a fun day.
