No. 16 Georgetown Vs. No. 9 Missouri: Hoyas Drop Tigers In Overtime, 111-102

With the way regulation ended, it looked like we were in for a fantastic five minutes of overtime. Instead, Georgetown took control early in the period, cruising to a 111-102 win. With just .3 seconds left in regulation, Chris Wright hit a three to tie the game at 94 after a frantic scramble off a miss. The three capped a wildly entertaining half of basketball, with both the No. 9 Tigers and No. 16 Hoya throwing hay-makers throughout.

Missouri, and its typical “forty minutes of hell” style, pushed the tempo, leading to a high-scoring affair. The Hoyas were up to the task, matching Missouri’s frenetic pace while clawing back to force overtime after losing the lead in the second half. Geogetown was a perfect 15-15 from the line and shot 46.9 percent from three point range, making 15-32 attempts.

Georgetown was led by Austin Freeman’s 31 points, five rebounds and two assists. Jason Clark added 26 and Chris Wright added 21 for the Hoyas on the night. Wright also dished-out a game-high 10 assists.

All five Missouri starters were in double figures, led by Marcus Denmon’s 27 points. Ricardo Ratliff (22), Michael Dixon (17), Kim English (11) and Laurence Bowers (10) joined Denmon in double figures. Ratliff also pulled-down a team high five rebounds in a losing effort.

Georgetown won the match-up of unbeatens, improving to 7-0 on the season. Missouri fell to 5-1 with the loss. The Tigers travel to Eugene to take-on the Oregon Ducks on Thursday while Georgetown hosts Utah State on Dec. 4.
