The No. 12 Michigan St. Spartans are shooting a dismal 29.7 percent from the floor against the No. 18 Texas Longhorns, but strong glass work has the home team behind only 31-30 at the break. Spartans forwards Delvon Roe and Draymond Green have combined to hit one of their 10 attempts, but Roe’s four offensive rebounds matches Texas’ entire total.
Texas Vs. Michigan State: Spartans Down Only One At Half Despite Awful Shooting
Sparty has a 26-to-19 rebounding advantage overall, with four different MSU players grabbing four or more. Texas forward Tristan Thompson has eight for the Longhorns, but isn’t getting a whole lot of help. Thompson, along with Michigan State guards Kalin Lucas and Durrell Summers, has nine points so far.
Texas led 28-19 with just a few minutes to go before halftime, but the Longhorns went cold just as Summers and Derrick Nix hit multiple shots each.
