UConn Vs. Stanford: Huskies 90-Game Win Streak Ends As Huskies Fall To Stanford, 71-59
Stanford led the way at the half, taking a 34-30 lead into the break. In the second half, the Cardinal widened the gap, outscoring UConn, 37-29. It was a completely dominating game from Stanford, who finally solved the UConn riddle that has plagued so many teams over the last two years.
Moore finished the game with just 14 points, looking out of sorts for much of the game. Kelly Faris led the Huskies with 19 points in the loss. The Huskies shot just 33 percent from the field in the loss and were unable to ever get their high-powered offense going.
Stanford can credit its game, and the end of UConn’s streak, to Jeanette Pohlen. The guard finished the game with 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Nnemkadi Ogwumike added 12 points and Kayla Pedersen grabbed 11 rebounds for the Cardinal.
In the blink of an eye, the streak ended at 90 for the UConn women and Gino Auriemma as the Cardinal simply outplayed the Huskies.
