Pac-10 Basketball Tournament 2011 Bracket Update: Arizona Dumps Oregon State

Arizona put a stop to Oregon State’s run through the 2011 Pac-10 Tournament, pulling out a 78-69 victory that had Wildcats fans assured of a victory with several minutes to go, though the Beavers did make a troubling late run. Derrick Williams pitched in 22 points and seven rebounds, while Solomon Hill added nine points and 12 boards.

Arizona gets USC in the semifinals, with whom they split their season series this year. Zona won 82-73 at home, while the Trojans took a 65-57 victory in Los Angeles.

Oregon State shot well, but got clobbered on the boards, couldn’t hit free throws, and gave Arizona too many open looks from behind the three-point line.
